even is a remote marketplace for creative and digital work: logos, animation, video, code, audio, and more. You never appoint one freelancer and hope. A small group, drawn in turn from a queue of people who do that exact work, each turn in a finished response to your brief. Every attempt turned in is paid a fixed attempt fee. The one you commission is paid the project fee on top.
You Commission Finished Work
Not past examples, not a written pitch. A small group each submit a finished response to your brief, and you choose the one you want from what arrived.
The Price Is Agreed Before You Start
One fee up front, shown before you begin, and any part of it that nobody earns is returned to you.
Every Attempt Turned In Is Paid
Every attempt that is turned in takes an attempt fee, and the one you commission takes the project fee on top.
The choice comes last, after the work exists, instead of first.
A short description of what you need made, and the fee for the piece you finally choose. Nothing is chosen yet.
5 people from the front of the queue for that kind of work each accept and make a real, finished version of your brief.
You commission the one you want. Everyone who turned in real work is paid the attempt fee, and the one you choose is paid the project fee on top.
Three published figures from the platforms most people hire on today. None of them is a claim about even.
Nothing here is a summary. Each one is the whole thing, with the arithmetic shown.
How It Works
The full sequence: the three steps, how invitations are ordered so everyone comes up in turn, and the room that opens for everyone who took part once a brief is decided.
What It Costs
One payment up front, from $50. The fee table, two worked examples on a real brief, and exactly what comes back to you.
Why Even Works This Way
The published numbers on hiring from pitches, with sources, and why a creative who is good enough to have paying clients would turn up here.
What You Can Post
37 kinds of remote creative and digital work across 10 disciplines, with the variants under each one.
even is opening now, and being early is the whole advantage. Post a brief and you have the full attention of people with something to prove. Come to do the work and you face the fewest names you ever will. I would rather tell you it is early than pretend it is not, because a platform built on honest data should not fake its own.

The founder and developer
I work under the name Jay Digital and have been doing creative work since 2010, running it properly since 2022. Brand systems and identity, logos, colour, typography and the guidelines that hold them together. Web and software builds, from sites to internal tools. Custom tooling and automation. Creative direction and brand audits. Music I produce and release, and long-form video I write and edit.
I work across all of it because the disciplines feed each other, and it is the reason I could build even. I designed it and wrote it end to end, the payments, the database and the page you are reading, and I have been on both ends of what it is about: writing the brief, and doing the work.
Why I built it
“I struggled with the same thing trying to find creative work. I tried Freelancer, I tried Upwork, I tried Fiverr, and I did not like any of them. Years in, they were already offensively saturated. You are one of hundreds writing a pitch nobody reads, for a job you probably will not get, and any work you actually put in you put in for free.”
